Turns out that her baby girl goes by Shannon Rose (when she's in trouble with her mother... isn't that how it is for all of us?)... and while we've had other sessions that have brought in flowers as an accent to the session... this time it actually signified something real.
My rose mission, should I choose to accept it, was laid before me... except for one small problem.
The Flemings forgot the roses at home.
:)
Never fear however... while they apologized for being "late".... reality was that even with a trip back home to get the flowers... they were STILL a few minutes early for their 1 p.m. start time... and all was well.
We got the all important rose images done right out of the gate and what i liked perhaps the most about Shannon's session was the fact that the Flemings actually listened to our advice on clothing!
Look at all those solid colors!
Folks... I didn't write the book on fashion... photographers that are a LOT better than I decided a long time ago that if you wanted to flatter yourself, you need to stay away from stripes, plaids and prints with lots of text or design on them.
In the end, the rules-of-thumb are rarely listened to, which is fine... but I could tell that Team Fleming took our suggestions to heart and I hope they can see the benefits for doing so. :)
Shannon rekindled something I hadn't done in awhile with my senior clients... It was something I used to make a regular habit with... and that's playing Name That Tune (or artist) with our XM radio blaring in the camera room.
I must admit... I'm a bit rusty with that stuff... and I've been on quite the country kick of late... so I guess when I tossed out "Jessie-J" with every female artist that came on the radio... that would be the reason why.. :)
Seriously, tho... Miss Fleming had mad game in that department... so, I've got some brushing up to do in the Top 40 genre if I'm gonna get back to my previous I-can-name-every-song-in-your-iPod status.
In between challenging each other with every song, we managed to squeeze in a few images along the way. Talked some golf... caught up with Mama LeAnn... got the update on older bro, Phillip (who i was informed somehow found a way to accidentally leave a scar on sis's forehead back in the day.... WHAT!?!?! Siblings quarreling? The horror!)
At any rate, we capped the day with Shannon's golf and it was another session that went an hour over it's limit... or two... or three. ;) Ahem.
