"I hope you had the time of your life..."

It's a song that many of you have heard.

"It's something unpredictable....

But in the end it's right.....

I hope you had the time of your life..."

This would be a good theme for any of our senior sessions around here, but never so much as Friday afternoon as one of Green Day's biggest fans, Mary, arrived.

Concert T's... posters, CDs, concert ticket stubs, autographs... you name it. We were set to "take the photographs and still frames in your mind."

In addition we threw in her Bobcat marching band uniform and a clarinet and an iPod and we had ourselves a regular music store.

Mary's mom mentioned when she called to book that her daughter "hated to have her picture taken," so hopefully we changed her mind, if only for one day. :-)

And on this last day of the month.....

"Wake me up... when September ends..."

He's the Man-ning

Friday morning was the second visit in two years from a member of the Manning family from Williamsburg. Blaine's sister, Ashley, holds a special place in studio history as she is the all-time leader in most outfits in a single senior session (18). And while Blaine was much more conservative with "just" four outfits... his stuff still rocked.

The most meaningful images were the shots with the bow below. That bow belonged to a life-long friend that Blaine tragically lost a few years back. The Krakow Construction logo on the two images below aren't just a shameless plug.... they represent this friend and his father's business. It's my hope that we did Blaine's friend's memory justice.

I want to give Blaine a title of his own as THE MAN that covered both ends of the spectrum with style and grace. Blaine is clearly an outdoorsman and his images and outfits portray that... but big ups to the senior guy that isn't afraid to throw on the suit as well. Dang, brutha... lookin' sharp! (truth is... Blaine did it to face less mockery from Grandma, who was along from the session... and let me tell ya.. this gal could dish it out. Most grandmas never see anything wrong with their grandchildren... but this grandmama was talking smack with the best of 'em!)

The "Sky"berg is the limit

Morgan was our Thursday afternoon project and man, did we have fun together.

Morgan's Mom, Vickie, grew up in this little town... so it was a trip down nostalgia lane for mama. Morgz kept taunting mom about what a "bad" kid she was back in the day when she was beating the Montour streets. Ah, yes... the gritty streets of Montour... it doesn't get more urban than a town of 200. :-)

These girls were giggley from the git-go and it made me wonder if my fly was down..... or something? After I checked and was assured that that wasn't the case, I had come to the realization that Morgan and her mom had a neat relationship and whatever they were "on" they needed to share that with the rest of us!

Just kidding, of course.

In conclusion, I think mom was just glad to be away from work and Morgan was enjoying kickin' it instead of being at school. Enjoy the images and thanks for a great time!

she's just Jenny from the block

Jenny continued our sudden surge from Gladbrook-Reinbeck of late with a FULL session of sports stuff, Florida Gator items... Jeff Gordon memorabilia, her main squeeze Jon and GPA that puts most of us to shame. (i'm not afraid to admit there are seniors in here regularly that are WAY smarter than I)

Jen would be the first to admit that she was camera shy.... but I think we succeeded in bustin' her out by the end of the day. Whether it was laying on the floor with all her orange and blue... or jumping in the air..... or diving for a volleyball...... I know this... it ended up not being near the torture she may have thought it would be coming in. :-)

Mama Doris did her due diligence by shopping all the competition in the area..... and what did she find out? We were her best option considering all factors..... so a major league thank you to Doris and Jenny both. In addition.... a tip of the cap to Jen's man, Jon.... it takes true love to skip breakfast and bust it down here for pictures with your lady at 8 a.m. You've got a keeper, Jen.

Mustang girls better late than never

Here's tonight's project.....

We just shot this four hours ago...... but here it is........ get some four wheelers, eyeblack... some volleyball babes and... bingo.... volleyball poster.....

They haven't even hit the streets yet..... (ETA next week) but I thought I'd share the result with the masses.

Go Mustangs!

Matchmaking Michelle

I figure most seniors are coming my way for cool images.

And perhaps that's all that Friday's afternoon senior wanted.

But, as it turned out, her photographer may have found her a love interest.

Let the pictures show below that Michelle HARDLY needs eHarmony.com, but when a certain fella's name came up that I just so happened to be good friends of his family..... it was ON.

So... maybe it'll amount to a little bit of nothing.... maybe it'll crash and burn. But on the off chance that they live happily ever after....... I'll take all the credit. :-)

Aside from my Chuck Woolery-like version of The Dating Game... Michelle got some sweet stuff. Awesome outfits and a gal that asks to borrow my Cubs hat for a few images is A-okay in my book! A special thank you to Leslie for her hair efforts and all the driving!

Bomb-diggity

Part of the fun of being a senior photographer is trying to keep up with teens and their style, preference and lingo.

Enter Ronnica.

This gal was big into COLOR.

Check out the outfits below...... especially the blue/peach/pink number...... and the SHOES. It takes someone special to pull of that ensemble and I think she did it!

Ronnica was mentioning that her multi-colored kicks were the "bomb-diggity." I may have to put that into my repertoire... but if bomb-diggity equals every color in the rainbow... then her shoes were that. :-)

I think we may also be setting a record for most Harley Davidson's photographed in one senior season this year. Thanks to Harv for bringing mom's bike to us Friday morning.

Ronnica is also one of two seniors that dance for the Dance Konnection in Marshalltown. The other is Talia (Fun-Size from an earlier post)... so we have the market cornered with Miss Kimi's senior class! Thanks, gals!
