A Sooooo Very Berry Session...

I gave her a second chance to take the reigns...

She declined.

And truth is... I preferred it that way.  ;)

Nicole Berry had contacted me a couple days before her session in a panic about her hair... Seems as though that despite our materials telling seniors that the number one thing to avoid right before a session is a new cut/style/color...

Miss Berry evidently thought she'd roll the dice.

Our blonde bombshell evidently was just a smidge blonder than normal... and I suggested that we postpone... but... she retracted quickly... telling me she was getting used to it.

Translation?   It wasn't THAT drastic... and more importantly... she didn't wanna wait even ONE more day for her senior pictures.  :)

So we dodged that bullet... and Nicole informed me that she basically was an open book.

No props comin along with her... no preset notions... no visions.... just a boat load of hope that things would go well.

Blondie walked in then last Thursday and I thought her hair looked fantastic.   So much for worry, huh?   Just like she had promised... she was traveling light... four outfits... no props... just a little Nicole and a whole lotta smiles.

I asked her one more time... "any ideas??? anything you brought with ya??  want anything specific???"

She just smiled and said, "nope."

Time to go to work then...

After getting our feet wet in the camera room...  I had to hit the road and get a different spot for her since a couple of friends (Kal and Jade) had been in within the week.... So, there we were... photographing three buds... all in the same time slot... all within one week of each other... and take a look.... all three left with very distinct images.   That's how we do it.

Nicole was turning heads in two towns before we returned to the studio for a few more images of our STC stunner.   I got caught up on all things dealing with Trojan Cheer Squad as well as some insight into being a Thiesen's employee.

She was anything but the stereotypical blond in my time with her... Kinda shy... but sharp as a tack... and a sense of humor and a quiet confidence that sneaks up on ya.   I hope I get the chance to photograph Nicole and her friends a couple more times this year at STC... but if I don't... I know this... we killed it on this day.

Great job, Nicole... thanks for waiting.
