Either get your sleep... or face the consequences.
:)
It's been a long standing line of mine during senior sessions... usually near the END of them, the guest of honor might let one slip. The lack of sleep in combo with the length of session kick and and then it happens.
*YAWN*
That's right... a big ol' yawn. My line that usually follows is, "that'll be the last acceptable yawn that we'll allow this session!"
That usually is my cue to pick up the excitement level in the camera room or maybe the last outfit needs the be brought to a conclusion sooner than later... but either way, I almost always take a joking offense to the act.
There's yawners... and then there's Sarah Vajgrt.
The 6 a.m. wake up call for her 8 a.m. session evidently didn't agree with this young lady as the yawns came about as often as one sees food on a stick this week on the southside of Des Moines.
I'll spare you any of the imagery of the deed, but just ask her mom, Laura... she'll back my story and even predicted her blog's demise when she said, "you know he's gonna write about that now, Sarah!"
Affirmative.
All joking aside, she must have been legitimately tired because the session itself was packed with clothing changes... locale changes and lots of shared stories and laughs. (see the last image on this blog for the proof)
I can't say that Mama Laura caught the Yawn Bug that inevitably gets contagious just by watching others rip off a jaw dropping, suck-the-air-out-of-the-room version of a yawn, but maybe that's because she knew what to expect!
It was Laura's third and last go-around with Stewart Photography as we had already seen brothers Adam (EM Class of 2011) and Noah (2013). We traded in the cars and chainsaws for dresses, puppies, flowers, tireswings, pom-poms and nail polish.
Make no mistake... we were most definitely photographing a young lady this time around!
Just like Noah's session, however, we did make an appearance at the Vajgrt homestead southeast of Marshalltown. I told Laura that if they'd like to leave me in their will as primary beneficiary to their property someday... my camera and I would not argue. With the plethora of East Marshall girls we're photographing this year, it was certainly a blessing to get all of Sarah's outdoor images done in 100% unique areas.
Add in a unique personality (that was constantly being prodded by her mother... usually in a deliciously sarcastic back-and-forth banter) and we were having no problem getting not only beautiful locations, but a smile to match. The end result speaks for itself.
We ended the day with another trip to the new gym at East Marshall High School where Sarah will serve as captain of the Mustang basketball cheerleaders this winter. In the meantime... she'll also be starting practice this week as a football cheerleader for the first time... so look for Miss Vajgrt coming to a sideline near you for the next several months.
I'd be remiss if I didn't give the Vajgrt's small business a plug. Papa Roger runs Home Rental Center in Marshalltown. The boys are now helping pops out with the family business, and yes... even the baby girl lends a hand. I told Sarah that she too shoulda busted out a six foot Stihl chainsaw and held it over her head like a deranged Clark Griswold in Christmas Vacation.
We stuck to the girly stuff, and Sarah hit that realm right on screws... now if we could just get that girl some sleep!
Thanks Team Vajgrt... you know how important loyalty is in running your family business... and I appreciate the opportunity to capture all three kids' personalities for you.
