Releasing Elise...

And the winner for showing the most patience this year goes to...

Envelope please...

Elise Anne Peterson!  Gladbrook-Reinbeck High School!

*applause*

While it was no one's fault  other than Mother Nature's refusal to cooperate on her original session date back on August 6th, the girl has been waiting for nearly a month now since my lenses first spied this blonde haired maiden.   And believe me... I understand how waiting can be.   I'm as impatient as anyone.

A whole slew of seniors, followed by the start of school and fall sports jobs that we do annually didn't help our turnaround time any... but yet here we are finally.  But the journey to get here was worth noting.

I was told on the first phone call from Julie Peterson that her daughter would like to be photographed at their country get-away-fixer-upper second home east of Gladbrook.   It sound intriguing to me, but alas... day one of her session had other ideas.

Rain, rain and more rain caused our first and only rainout of the summer back on the 6th.   Undaunted... we shot thru all of her supercute outfits inside... put them in our hip pocket, and judging from the girls'  instant reaction, I think they thought they had already dug themselves into an impossible hole to dig out of.

Translation:  They were only half way there, and it was already going to be excruciating to choose when the time came.

Julie even mentioned to Elise... "maybe you'll only need to do one or two of the outfits out at the farm."

Or maybe not.

;)

A week ago Friday I made the trek to Ridge Road that falls in between the aforementioned Gladbrook and the town of Traer.   The further north and east I went... the FOGGIER it got.   I thought to myself... I can deal with fog... and in fact, it made for some extremely soft and unique outdoor lighting.

I arrived and it didn't take long for me to figure out I was kid-in-a-candy-store  kinda fortunate.   Beautiful young lady... paired with a picturesque countryside and perfect conditions.   At that point I hoping that our future Buena Vista business major hadn't listened to her mama and only brought two outfits... because this place needed exhausted.

Everywhere I turned was another postcard image and in the end, I could tell that Elise was gonna love these images much more than anything we could have created in the studio.  (although she rocked the studio, too... ask to see her book if you want proof).   In fact, when we finished up mid morning, she even said as much....

"Can you post mostly outdoor ones when you do your blog?"

I agreed of course, and why wouldn't I?   Elise and her mother were about the nicest people you'll ever meet.   In fact, we've photographed a handful of seniors from G-R this year... and I swear... it must be something in the water up there.  Julie, Chris, Val, Heidi...  all the Rebel senior mom's have been bend-over-backwards polite and agreeable.  What ever these ladies are on... I need someone to get me a stash of it. (I already know about Chris Kuehl and Lisa Flamme.. they're next!... so don't ruin the vibe!)  :)

I'll tell ya this much, if G-R doesn't have the best afterprom in the state, there needs to be an investigation, because these mom's are go-getters and totally live up to the Iowa Nice moniker.  :)

So the two images that I did post here that were indoor, were only there because those outfits were not put back on during session number two.   Indoor or out... it really made no difference, because clearly the camera agreed with Miss Peterson.   And while the wait was longer than she would have ultimately liked, I hope she thinks it was worth it.

Thanks Team Peterson... and to all the Rebels that have joined Team Stewart this year... I appreciate you.
