What a TRIP!

I could be wrong... but I'm guessing there isn't a senior photographer in the area that takes more roadies than I do.

If it's important to the senior, however, it's important to me.... so when it calls for it... it's time to jump in the H3 and get it done.

My propensity to want to roll could do with out $3.50/gal gas prices... but I digress... :)

So, when Wednesday's senior girl needed pictures done at her track... there was only one solution.... Go to her track.

Only one problem...

Emily's school doesn't have a track.

I know the feeling... I spent most of my high school track career running around a baseball diamond/football field on grass.... working on handoffs... trying to overcome inherent disadvantages of not having lanes, exchange markings, a true surface.

Been there.

So... what was the solution?

When in need... ask a neighbor.

And that's exactly what the Havelka's did as Mama Linda (who sits on GMG's school board) contacted BCLUW's principal and we were in like flynn on the Comets' new all-weather surface.

Emily was a state qualifier in both the 100 and 400 hurdle events and our task was to highlight that. There are no less than four images below that show the fruit of our efforts that began at 7:30 a.m. at the home of Comets. We were lugging hurdles all OVER that morning. In fact... if you see me in the next couple of days... I can show you what happens when one tries to muscle up and repeatedly carry three hurdles on your arms fork-lift style. (trust me... black and blue forearms aren't pretty).

I was tickled with our results that we got done there... and with all due respect to the land of BCLUW which has been VERY good to me as well... I was implored to work some digital magic and turn black-n-gold country into black-n-blue... mission accomplished. ;)

If you wanna ask Em about the second "trip" she made that day... you can ask her... but I won't embarrass a client before she's placed her order... it's not good for business. :)

So then... the third trip of the day was up to Union Grove to get the waterfall... which was a lot of fun shedding my socks/shoes and getting the perfect angle of our Wolverine gal who was in the water herself.

We weren't done there however... as we bounced into Marshalltown to get some urban stuff before returning to the greater Metro Montour area to polish things off.

Whew!

It's only been a month into the senior season and I've already photographed Em and two of her closest friends. I've always said that when things like that happen... it truly is my biggest honor... It means SO much when ANYONE chooses me... but when they choose me despite several of their closest friends coming to me as well??? That's trust. That's knowing that they can do that without being treated like a number... and that they'll get THEIR look. That's being confident that you're not gonna get the same thing as your older sibling that was just here two years ago. So thank you for your trust Madi, Madelyn and Emily. (you just wait, Kulhavy! You're NEXT) :)

I couldn't be more thankful for all you guys.
