Benton Community?
What?
While we're used to photographing Bobcats in these parts... it's just not the ones of Blue and Gold variety hailing from Eastern Iowa.
That being said.. we'll gladly accept a Benton senior any day that ends in Y. Turns out after asking Kori how she ended up in Montour for senior images for her son... THAT's when the clarity arrived.
"I'm originally a South Tama girl... and I've seen that you've photographed alot of my friends' kids' senior images... so we checked into it," Kori said.
I can count the Benton seniors on one hand over the last 20 years in business, but if it takes mama being a local product to get our senior in the fold... so be it. Bring on the Benton Bobcat!
I was told that Hunter Livermore would talk my ear off about the Yankees (excuse me while I deal with the the little bit of puke in my mouth), but more importantly... I was warned about being ready to photograph a kid that LIVED for golf.
Golf... golf... and MORE golf.
So we had to get through the regular three outfits... but it was made clear to me from the very beginning... there was one thing... and one thing only that REALLY mattered to Mr. Hunter.
That little dimpled ball.
Oh sure, we had to get a few images of Hunter representin' in his backwards hat and some shots for the fam, but it wasn't until we got out Hunter's bag of sticks that I REALLY got his attention.
Hunter wanted two different golf looks... one in his Phil Mickelson-esque all black gear that showed off his picture perfect swing... and one in his Benton blue gear.
Both uniforms made a trip to the Tama/Toledo Country Club for some shots around the course. While there we bumped into my middle school math/football/baskeball coach David Nitz (who told me to make Hunter look good... and I obliged... because I still to this day never want to let the man down). We also ran into Grundy Center's No.1 boys golfer, Lane Bangasser (who's also a recent Stewart Photography victim) as well as the grandmother of fellow recent Stewart Photography alum, Lauren Gauthier, in the form of Sue Gauthier.
It was many hellos and glad hands while I was catching up with all these folks, which prompted Mama Kori to say... "wow... you seem to be quite the popular guy????"
Little did the the former STC product know that I had earned such a reputation in her former home town. ;)
But I digress.
Hunter and I buzzed all over the course doing everything from capturing a tee shot of an exploding ball, to nailing a long put... hitting out of the sand trap and teeing off with some serious authority.
We become the Tama/Toledo CC side sure to be sure... but that's okay... we were after some unique images... and nothing was gonna keep us from it.
While I could only dream of every hitting the ball like Hunter can, I could at least help Hunter capture HIS dream images of grippin and rippin it... and that's what I'm here for.
Thanks for going the extra mile to come to me for senior pictures, Team Hunter. I hope you felt that we went the extra mile for you as well.
