The list is long... and stretches over a decade in duration.
Jody
Kunkel first called me in 2002 for her son Brandon. We had become the
first studio in the area to dip our toes into the digital waters, and
the first in a SLEW of seniors were coming our way.
That's IF I could continue to earn the business, that is.
Well, evidently we did something right, because the run just kept on coming.

And finally... drumroll please... Jonathan... Class of 2014.
THAT's loyalty!
Jon
wasn't gonna let Team Kunkel go out without a bang as the outdoorsman
extraordinaire brought in his gilly suit, bow and fishin' pole and hats.
It
always makes me a LITTLE queasy when a senior pulls back a bow with a
loaded arrow... or points a gun barrel right at the lens as I fear a
resulting Times-Republican headline reading "Local photographer perishes
in senior portrait mishap."
But, alas... the fear gets put
aside, all in the name of getting that image. Even sister Katelyn got a
little taste of it this time around as she was the brave soul to hold
the auxiliary flash right in the line of fire when I insisted on getting
Jonathan's best Hunger Games impersonation from a profile angle!
(thanks Kate!) :)
After all those Kunkels... and all this outdoors gamesmanship, Jon had one more trick up his sleeve.
Nearly 20 years into this gig... and never once had I had a senior drag in a WATERMELON to be photographed with.
The
prize of the Kunkel garden... this massive fruit weighed a ton and if I
was gonna photograph a melon... it might as well be an epic one.
I asked Jon what the story was behind it... and he just said... "I like watermelon."
Good enough for me, bro. Good enough for me.
Thanks Team Kunkel for all your business over the years. It means alot.
