As most of you know... I'm normally quicker than this...
We did lil' Baylee's senior session on Tuesday afternoon, and I know (gasp) it's all of Friday... but that's still kinda slow by our standards.
So, while it's probably been an excruciating three days for our freckled face East Marshall senior, the wait is now over!
Full disclosure, I woulda had ya done yesterday if not for the Frank Sinatra of our time, Michael Buble', making an appearance in Des Moines last night. It was an AMAZING show for my daughter and I to attend and I will thank all of the four seniors that are waiting to see their blogs and books in advance for their patience! :)
Actually, Baylee's mom and I had crossed paths back in 2002 when I photographed her son, James. I freaked everyone out in our first year of digital photography by making James' eyes YELLOW to match his Hawkeye hoodie back in the day. That being said, unfortunately, I didn't get the chance to see Mama Connie again this time around as she's been battling a serious back issue and has been in and out of the hospital of late. We wish her a speedy recovery and a return to health.
In her absence, I put Baylee's boyfriend's mother to "work" instead. Bev Snyder was a grey card manager, reflector holder and second set of eyes for the afternoon... and I know our guest of honor appreciated having her there to calm her nerves. :)
I was tickled for Baylee Bop (family USED to call her that, I was told.... and I think they still should as tiny as the girl is!) as she was SO excited two months ago when she received one of our afterprom gift certificates at East Marshall's prom. If it made it much more attainable for her to go to the studio of her choice... that makes me feel great. It's always good to see seniors that are kids of my high school friends and extended community "family." Baylee's dad, Randy, and uncle Kevin and I go way back... and her Aunt Shelia and I were each part of what was just a class of 22 kids attending school in Gilman before a merger created what is now East Marshall... so you KNOW we grew up as friends every step of the way.
So, you're wait is over, Miss Baylee Nicole... here's hoping you love your images as much as I did getting to do them. :)
