It wasn't a Rockstar session... but it sure felt like it.
For those of you not in the know... our Rockstar session is there for those that can't get enough OUTFITS for their session.... and while we "only" did four changes of clothes Monday morning... there can be no doubt... this session ROCKED.
It was just a year ago that I photographed Madi's older sis, Hannah... and that was an amazing day in its own right... but Monday was round two with Team VanGundy.... and I'm not gonna lie... it was epic.
Rain forced our original start location at Casa de VanGundy into the humble quarters of Stewart Photography... and we kicked some major guitar images before departing for Madi's beautiful home just south of Marshalltown.
Once there we took advantage of the gorgeous countryside and created what I think would be high end 'album covers' for our budding musician. (the girl can sing and play her axe... not too mention she can stop traffic... and did... stay tuned).
We had to get a few shots in her amazing living room that has enough glass surrounding it to keep Windex in business annually... and then once that was in our hip pocket... it was off to uptown Marshalltown.
Madisun had on an outfit that was BARELY papa approved with how short the shorts-that-looked-like-a-skirt number she found to go with her leather coat and cowboy boots... Think Taylor Swift-slash-Joan Jett in the back alley of Marshalltown.
The rubbernecking, whistles and catcalls were a plenty... but we didn't care.... it was time to be a star... and she pulled it off like no other...
It was a little after noon and the girls just insisted that we stop by Mtown's latest sensation, Purple Cherry for a little snack to get thru the rest of the session.... so we did.
For those of you living under a rock... we stopped in the uber popular self-serve frozen yogurt shop uptown to get some refreshment. But while we were there we figured... why stop taking images??? So there's a couple uniique images of our blonde beauty getting her Purple Cherry <3 on.... :)
Gang... I'm not gonna lie... this was a totally amazing session... we got back to the studio and didn't let off the gas as we captured a couple more images that I'm extremely proud of.... I heard more than once when we got back that Madi felt like a rockstar.... and the truth is... she and her amazing mom, Kristin, made ME feel just the same.
There are ups and downs with every job... Monday was a huge up... Whenever a client and her mother need a hug from you before they leave... you know you've done something right... and you're in the right place.
Thank you, Team VanGundy... you've inspired me to sing tonight...
<3 :)
