Another Wolverine brother...

Over the years it's been something we can count on.

It's what helps a small business in a town of 200ish alive for this long.

Loyalty.

And one thing we have always been able to count on over the years is loyalty from seniors from Green Mountain-Garwin High School.

This year has been no different as we've certainly seen our fair share of Wolverines.

The neat thing to me is when we see a group of good friends... guys or gals... all come our way.

And call it waiting for fall... (or perhaps more accurately procrastination) we've had a run of GMG fellas of late.

Bridger, Bryce, Matt (stay tuned) and the subject for THIS blog,  Alec Bovenmyer.

I met a 12 year old Alec back in 2009 when Papa Kevin and Mama Chanda were in for family portraits.   Sister Tayler was part of an epic group of GMG girls that we saw that year as well.   So we thought that we'd probably see Alec eventually.

And that's when the loyalty comes in.

Last Friday was when it came to fruition as the aforementioned 12 year old has grown into a rock solid middle linebacker.   Sharp looks just like his folks and a easy-goin smile to match... this one was not difficult to photograph.

And while he probably loved have pictures made of him for hours just as much as he enjoys being fawned over by, lets call them "eccentric" sales dudes at The Buckle, he didn't let it show.

We ran all over town... got caught up on each other's families' happenings.  We talked a bunch of football of course.  The guy was so agreable that he didn't even complain too much when mom wanted to continue a tradtion that started with sis and jump in a few images with her senior's session.  (No giving him crap guys... that's cool in my book!)

Mom and I lamented the fact that none of us is getting any younger.   It's been a wonderful dynamic for me to "catch up" to the age of the parents of seniors.   For a couple of decades... I was younger than the paying clients (parents) of the seniors we were serving.   Now that I've joined the club, so to speak with a senior of my own this year... there can be no doubt that there's a deeper connection with our senior parents... because I'm one of them now.   It's wonderful sharing similar experiences and comparing and contrasting each other's findings... successes... failures.   And this session was no different.

Alec put up with my barrage of talking and exposure making and eventually we got to something more up his alley when we finished with another amazing sports collage.   Mr. Bovenmyer is out for four sports at GMG, but chose to focus on where his passion lies.

Football.

Nothing wrong with that in this photographer's book.   A session that was rooted in loyalty and ended in football.   A great day indeed.

Thanks Team Bovenmyer and Team GMG... always.
