It seems like the stuff is following me around lately.
Every time I'm turning around I'm having to dodge the stuff.
Did today... will tomorrow.... and if you follow our blog regularly, the last entry dealt with it as well.
So did this one.
It's
usually not that big of a deal. Rescheduling is always an option.
That being said, as we rapidly descend towards the end of the useable
outdoor foliage here in a few weeks, having to bump back could
drastically affect how the outdoor images look.
Translation: If it's at all possible, get the session in!
Matt
Carlon's session a week ago Thursday was very much looking like a
Get-The-Indoor-In-And-Rebook-The-Outdoor situation. It was 2 1/2 hours
in... and nearly all the indoor images had been taken in regular
outfits. All we had left was to run through a sports series in Matt's
GMG basketball uniforms, and we would have in our hip pocket all we
could do on this day. The rain was still falling and hope for this day
was almost lost.
Just as we were beginning to talk about the
transition to basketball, it was brought to my attention that Mr.
Carlon's Under Armour that he usually sports under his Wolverine
hardwood threads was forgotten at home. Mama Lori offered to run and
get it while we finished up Matt's third outfit, and when she
returned... we'd finish the sports collage images and look at the
reschedule.
A funny thing happened on Lori's way home to get what was forgotten.
The rain stopped.
I poked out the back door to do the last set in Matt's black sweater... and behold!!! The skies had parted.
I
had lost my right hand gal in Lori... but there was no time to lose...
The Little Dutch Boy has stuck his thumb in the dam and Matt and I were
scooting around town taking full advantage.
Showing excellent
turn-on-a-dime skills and preparedness, Matt was putting together a
solid outdoor set like it was his job. Mom returned and to her
surprise, we had just one more outfit to do outside before getting to
the aforementioned basketball uniforms.
Lori jumped right back on
board with us and helped us polish off the wet-feet-but-awesome-images
mission we were on, and just like that... we had dodged the reschedule
bullet once again.
So my postmaster Don. and his ornery wife,
Lori didn't have to pull their kid out of school again... the outdoor
images looked great... and all was well in Montourville.
We just had one more thing to complete.... the sports stuff.
Matt
had gotten a little taste of my work while in a GMG uniform in November
a year ago when I showed up to photograph he and his teammates for the
boys basketball poster. A FREEZING early evening that, once again...
included a little rain (and wind... and temperatures about 40 degrees
COLDER than last Thursday, Matt and his teammates literally took one for
the team as they tried not to shiver on the main drag running through
town in their shorts and high tops.
Fortunately, this go around
was much more comfortable for my man, Matt. Granted he's an Iowa State
fan, which when I asked him which in state school he rooted for... he
took a look at my black and gold attire... looked down... and quietly
admitted, "not the school you cheer for."
LOL! Maybe he was afraid I was gonna draw mustaches on his pictures? ;)
Never fear
my friend! I didn't hold it against ya. I might be have to go against
my religion sometimes to serve you Clones... but a true pro never lets
it get in the way of delivering a quality job! :)
