Kruse-in

So I'm gearing up for South Tama's prom last spring when a bubbly gal comes up to me and reports....

"Your name has been coming up quite often at our home lately."

Uh, oh... what did I do now?

;-)

It seemed as though Lori was wanting to say that she, and her daughter, Ashley had come to the conclusion that they wanted me to do Ashley's senior portraits.

Seemed cool enough in my book. It's always nice to be tracked down instead of having to market, advertise, etc.

Lori informed me that I had my work cut out for me, because, in her words, her daughter was "high maintenance."

HA!

We've had our fair share of dealing with, and ultimately impressing, even the highest of particular folk. So, this was nothing new to me.

Lori, being the proud mama that she is... wanted me to meet Ashley (who was clearly in prom 'mode'... yet took the time to be polite). So, I told her, "nice to meet you... see you this summer." And as she walked away with her date to go out for dinner I hollered... "your mom said you're high maintenance!" We both got a laugh out of it.

Thursday afternoon I got to find out if Lori was right or blowing smoke.

The verdict? False advertising.

It's all in good fun, of course... but Ashley changed her outfits faster than Superman in a phone booth and, if anything... was waiting on ME to be ready during each transition!

More importantly than all this banter about high maintenance, was the fact that a local business owner (www.kruse-phillips.com) chose to support another. Both Lori and her husband, Todd, know what it's like to keep a small town business afloat. All the insane hours... the sacrifice... the worry... I made sure to thank them for choosing me, and while I hope I don't have to do business with them anytime soon... I do wish them the best.
