Just eleven years.... that's all.
That's what Mama Lori told me on June 30, 1999 when I was photographing her only daughter, Janel.
I had asked her if there were any other children in her family (as a smart businessman will wonder about) and she informed me that I would over a decade to wait for the brother to come along.
Eleven years away? It seemed like an eternity at that point. Honestly, I wondered if I'd even be here.
Well, eleven years have passed and Lori's boy finally made it to his turn. And from the looks of things, I'm pretty sure he's spent the last decade doing his homework for this. Dude had a plan.
It's always awesome (and rare) for a senior guy to take such possession of his session, but that was Eli here. I think I may have set a record for photoshop blends in a single session, but the results are great I think.
Check 'em out.... anyone that knows me well realizes my love for baseball and really, area athletics in general, so it should be no surprise that I REALLY liked seeing Eli's father's high school baseball jersey make an appearance. That authentic Green Mountain Mounties jersey is SWEET.... makes me kinda long for a simpler time. Eli's love for baseball wouldn't allow that back-to-back image to suffice, however... so we did a Comet-only collage as well.. and that thing was work... but it rocks.
Clearly, this guy has other passions as well.... his snowmobile, his love for playin' pieces and bustin' out tunes on his Tuba... he's a thespian... and most importantly, he has a love for the Lord. He made it clear that all of these things were important to him... and anyone knows that's been thru our studio, if it's important to you... then it's my job to bring that out. The bar was set very high by his sis 11 years ago... but it's my hope that even Janel can be just a bit envious of what we pulled off yesterday. ;-)
Finally, I wanted to give a big tip of the cap to Eli for something that i know isn't easy. I may embarrass him here... but it came to my attention yesterday that our senior has dropped nearly 40 pounds since last winter, I think that's truly amazing and worth applauding. You hit it out of the park yesterday, my man... congrats.
