Patriot Games...

Friday morning found me locking horns with Travis, who I found out right away was a fan of the New England Patriots. Being the Steelers fan that I am, it made for some interesting discussion throughout the session with this knowledgeable fan.

Fittingly, this "Patriot" was donning a t-shirt with a John Deere tractor with the Stars and Stripes behind it. It made for some classic All-American boy images... Jeans, t-shirt, cap, pickup truck... tough to argue with any of that, huh?

I have seen more of Mr. Travis lately as he's become more and more involved with the church I attend. That's been great to see. Luckily, his youth leader is a dyed in the wool Steelers fan. (we're everywhere man.... everywhere) ;-)

Travis is the second child that Mama Rhonda has brought to me as I saw sis (Kristi, East Marshall '08) just a couple years back. And while I know Travis would rather have been fishin', I think he still had a decent time, and at the very least... he's got someone new to argue with every Sunday in the fall now. It's SO easy to hate on Tom Brady and the Patriots... and now I have someone new to remind that there's only one NFL franchise that has SIX Lombardi trophies. (i'm thinkin' that if he had to do it over again now... that t-shirt woulda been something to do with New England's pro football franchise?)
