Burt's so good...

The old saying goes... behind every good man is a great woman.

I found out yesterday, that it's actually TWO great women.

Michael came in Thursday like a lot of senior guys... four outfits, shruggin' his shoulders about what he thought about all this... but deep down... wanting to look solid. My job was to make him just another in our long line of ROCKIN' GMG seniors. ;-)

So where do the two women come into play? Well... his delightful mom, Dee was there, of course... and man, does that gal's laugh light up a room! She was there every step of the way and just loads of fun and kept Michael and I on our toes. Dee had actually called just a few weeks back to get this spot and she wanted to take advantage of a facebook ad that she had seen featuring a young gal in a purple dress.

And that's where woman No. 2 comes in.

Michael's steady, Jamie, was already photographed in June... featured in our facebook ad, and made a return visit to bring our senior guy his home football jersey... (which, btw... props to the powers that be at GMG for going old school silver and black exclusively... pair those things with the winged helmets... dang... still gives me the shakes... but i digress). Anyway... Jamie popped in for the session and proved to be dang good at moral support (in addition to occasional umbrella holding).

With ladies like this around him... it's no wonder the dude is a great guy. I found it interesting how many questions the guy had for me. It can be the case that senior guys look at their session initially like going to the dentist... and normally I'm the one asking all the questions to get 'em comfortable... get 'em thinking about other things... rather than worrying about whether their smile is gonna look fake or whatever.

But here's Michael... "hey... what was YOUR favorite sport in high school?" "how many cameras do you have?" "did you play receiver in football?" It was refreshing, to be sure... and I think it made the session go really quickly... probably too quickly because it was like I was just shootin' the breeze with some old friends.

I had a senior mom call the other day asking if guys wear suits for their pictures much anymore. I was honest and told her not a lot... but when I DO see 'em... I think... man... that looks sharp... and maybe more SHOULD do it. Case in point... Michael was killin' the suit. Good job, man.
