I photographed my first Gladbrook-Reinbeck Rebel senior of the season Tuesday morning. Dalton is a big fella... and no wonder he anchors the offensive and defensive lines for the football team there. He benches 330 and starts every play from his center position... and then makes the opposing center's life miserable from his nose guard spot for the Rebel D.
I was kinda worried that this session might be one of THOSE sessions.... you know... kinda like dragging the unwilling along thru the mud... Dalton told me straight up... "pictures aren't my thing."
Gulp.
I promised to make his "pain" minimal. In the end... I think it was all a bit of an initial act, however, because right out of the gate... G-R's grunt turned into a big ol' teddy bear with an easy smile. I told him he'd better be careful, because I coulda been mistaken, but it seemed like on a couple of occasions, it actually looked like he might have been having a good time. Additionally, he wouldn't wanna admit it... but it was refreshing to see a guy get along well with his mom. Perhaps that HAS to be the case when you're Mama Colleen's one and only child... but it was still neat to see.
And for all you guys out there that are bad at remembering dates, anniversaries, etc., Dalton here, his girlfriend will be glad to know... knew to the EXACT day how long he has been steady with his gal. I was impressed! Credit where credit is due, my man. ;-)
