Laura was the sixth of what seems to be an endless slew of GMG seniors we're gonna do this summer and fall and while she'd be the first to admit that she was nervous about how her images might turn out... the proof is now in the pudding and clearly she can now relax!!!
I got to meet all the Goettsch ladies as Mama Carla came along and then Laura's grandmother popped in with Laura's giggle-box twin 11 year old sisters, Amy and Emily. Check out the priceless images of the girls sharing a lighter moment down below.
I've also learned that part of dominating a particular school in sheer numbers like we have at GMG for several years... that it's only a natural extension that we have revelations come out during the session. Tuesday's revelation is that if you play flute at GMG.... ya pretty much have to come to Stewart Photography. ;-) I'm not sure how many flutists there are in that school... but last year's Chelsey Parks and Jami Boege join Laura here and her good friend Hannah Van Gundy (we'll see Hannah soon!) in the section. I'm probably missing someone, but if they're not the best darn flute section in all the land... they at least know how to pick a photographer! ;-)
I would be remiss if i didn't bring up something personal here. Please forgive me... but as some of you may know, my mother has been very ill of late as she's in the fight of her life at the University of Iowa Hospitals as she battles leukemia. I took Laura here to my boyhood home for something different Tuesday morning and I couldn't help but think that Mom (who has suddenly become a Facebook/Stewart Photography Blog Fan Extraordinaire) wouldn't enjoy seeing a little bit of home from her room on the 7th floor in Iowa City... Get well soon, Mom. And Dad... when did you get that MASSIVE grill? Regardless, the Goettsch family and I thank you for the use of the scenery.
