Man, time flies.
August 11, 2006. Emily Hurd was here getting her senior images done. And then... in a laser fast time warp, the adorable kid sister, Julie, was back for more.
Just an eighth-grader at the time, it was apparent even then that Jules would be easy to photograph when her turn rolled around. In the meantime... I've had plenty of other "warm-ups" as I got the opportunity to photograph her annually as a member of The Dance Konnection. In addition... Miss Kimi's right hand gal at DK just so happens to be Julie's wonderful mom, Ruth. So, Ruth and I have had to work in concert many times to pull off that massive job yearly.
All that being said... last Thursday it was finally Julie's turn. We actually were SUPPOSED to do her images a month earlier... but a last minute bug kept her from busting out her amazingness. Never fear... she could only be contained for so long... and now the genie is out of the bottle! LOOK at these images! ;-)
We kept up our theme of doing anything we can to be different by making a return trip to Gladbrook. I had been there a while back with Alyssa and Michele Gauthier... and I evidently hadn't gotten it out of my system... because, while random to Julie... it had some areas that I needed to explore yet.
Fun thing was that while Julie was stopping traffic in this small town... we happened to bump into Michele again on her way back to her cute-as-heck tanning salon. Michele and Ruth made senior mom small talk while Julie and I covered the main drag like a blanket. Please enjoy the adorable image below of our ornery senior girl (who just so happens to make incessant trips to Dairy Queen, I'm told) as she just-so-happened to have some Ben and Jerry's on hand, and there just-so-happened to be a wonderful movie poster outside the Gladbrook Theater with Julia Roberts eating ice cream on it. Random? Yes. Had to be done? Also, yes.
Thanks for coming back to my studio and for all the laughs, Julie and Ruth... you know I don't take it for granted.
