Get back, Jack

You just don't hear the name Jack enough anymore, do ya?

I mentioned that to Jack's mom, Sheryl Tuesday as her son was changing outfits... and she explained that it was a family name, of course.

Regardless, this Jack of all trades brought in a couple of passions of his in weightlifting and fishin'. Sheryl had brought up the issue of weights on the original phone call with me... and I said... matter of factly that we needed to get those weights on fire... and with the help of Papa Dave... we got that done. In addition... they packed the fishin' pole and we got a neat image of Jack relaxin' waterside doing what he does best.... fishin' it up.

The Sutherlands had told me that they were familiar with my folks in Gilman, where I grew up... and I've since discovered that Dave delivers the mail to my parents... and has sold tractor equipment to my father... and even bought a boat from pops. (not sure how wise it is for anyone to try to buy something from my crowbar-proof-wallet carrying dad... but I digress.) Papa Dave was an extremely knowledgeable Cyclone fan. We locked horns on several Cy-Hawk topics... and I withheld much of my ammunition as i figured that going overboard with my Hawkeye allegiance may not be the best plan of attack with the fella holding the checkbook on this deal! ;-)

Jack was the 2nd of what was 3 consecutive East Marshall boys.... Two down... one more to go from this week..... and a half-mustang follows shortly after that. Stay tuned.

GO HAWKS!!! Iowa 31, ISU 10.
