It was probably long overdue... and someone had to stop the madness.
That person? Brodie Blocker.
It was quite a run of young ladies there for almost two weeks... 10 sessions in a row... all senior girls. The makeup, the hair.. the heels, the nails, the myriad of requests.
And then... sanity returned.
:)
Brodie brought our estrogen streak to a halt in a big way and in classic DUDE fashion, he kept it simple... brought in his ONE thing that meant the most to him... and asked me to do the obvious...
Make him look good.
Originally, Brodie's folks had stopped in several weeks ago, and had told me of plans to go on location so we could shoot some images of a motorcycle.
A bunch of rain and mud kept Brodie from wanting to travel to get his motor bike documented, so we focused on his other passion... his guitar.
I've yet to hear the band, but Brodie's mom, Lisa... assures me that the fellas do the classic rock justice whenever they take the stage. It was my job then... to do the red guitar justice...
For those of you who don't know... Brodie is a member of my wife's ENORMOUS extended family that resides for the most part in the Greater Tama/Toledo Metro area :) . While I never put pressure on ANY client to come to us for senior pictures, we certainly appreciate those that do... and ESPECIALLY family. Clearly every business person likes being liked... and loves being busy... but I've always believed that I'll get up everyday... put my best foot forward... treat others how you'd like to be treated and hopefully the rest will take care of itself.
So when ANYONE sees what you're doing as noteworthy to the point that they'll come spend their hard earned money with your business, THAT's a huge deal... and we've never taken that for granted. There's an old saying that goes something like... "never do business with family." Perhaps there's some truth in that... but the fact that the Blockers saw past that old axiom means alot to me personally.
I guess that's a long winded way of saying thanks to Brodie and his folks for supporting us. :)
