They had been in... done their homework, and they were ready.
SO ready.
Larry, Val and their son Colton visited our studio several weeks in advance to his session to make sure they knew what they were getting into. That being said, Colt's mom admitted, even on the day of the session, that they had no idea what they wanted... and that they were trusting us to do our thing.
It became obvious from the minute that I was shown Colton's outfits that there was a point of emphasis for this guy...
Sports!
Whether it be emphasizing his Special Olympics (dude bowls, swims and his favorite... plays basketball) or perhaps it involves keeping the state's regents happy with an undying support of BOTH Iowa State AND Iowa, my brutha was pumped up for all things competition! (not gonna lie... i think he looks better in black-n-gold!) ;)
I saw where that excitement comes from, because for anyone who's had a chance to meet Colton's mom, Val... her personality is infectious... Any idea that one might have of being fatigued from running on a four-month sleep-deprived bender that I currently am on were QUICKLY dismissed when this lady walked in! :)
Not to be outdone, Papa Larry was of great assistance as well as his "job" for the day wasn't clear until we walked outside.
Colton's transition lenses on his specs became problematic right out of the gate when we got to our first outdoor location and I looked up... and there they were..... darker than dark eyes.
No problem... it was Dad to the rescue as the game of glasses-on/glasses off was our M.O. the remainder of the session in an effort to keep the transitions from.... well.... transitioning... and I can't thank him enough for his help with that.
So it was Team Colton in full effect that afternoon... and I appreciate the effort from all parties. Thanks Lubbert family. :)
