I knew this one was coming...
She had been to the studio a couple years ago and sat in on a session for moral support.
I had photographed her as a member of Team Dance Konnection... and a couple of weeks ago... it was finally her turn.
Mama Sue had called ahead to make sure that it was ok to work in an extra shirt that said, "Live, Love, Dance, Laugh" on it... and, of course it was... But, more importantly... I thought to myself... How fitting.
For those of you that don't know her... Lainey is as delightfully sweet as they come... she has a love for the arts with her dance and music... and if that's not enough... you can throw in the title of being an honest and hardworking editor of the Marshalltown High School yearbook.
So, with all that history, there can be no doubt I was excited to see Lainey for her session. She brought me the CUTEST little black dress (LOVE the color combo of black-n-gold!) along with her flute and piccolo... toss in a trombone... her dance gear and her amazing sister Libby... it was yet another day that it was rough to be me. Ahem.
Paul and Susan Crawford have done something very right with this one because everything I had been able to gather about Lainey's politeness and overall character was backed up when we had more time to spend together on her special day.
A future chemical or biomedical engineer, Lainey tells me she'll be off to Iowa, ISU or Wisconsin in the fall. My guess if she wants to be an engineer, she'll end up in Ames... and I'll have to cut her some slack on that choice if it happens... she won't be part of the athletic department, at least. ;)
Thanks for an AWESOME, session, Lainey! And if we don't cross paths before then... see ya in the spring for the MAD DASH that is Dance Konnection Picture Day! :)
