Kickin' it with the Carsons in Conrad...

With the myriad of seniors and their families that have been making the trip from the Greater Conradapolis Corridor to Montour, I figured it was high time that I returned the favor.

Oh, I've been there a couple times to shoot one specialty item or two at the track/football field, but this was gonna be different.

Most know that I've long been an admirer of how well the folks in Conrad do the small town thing... golf course, pool, grocery store, excellent school system, well kept main street. When many small towns are deteriorating, they are going the other way.

So, when Marijke Carson called to book her daughter Leigh's session and I found out she's into many things that would be easily accept if I came to them... then the plan was set.

The Black-n-Gold H3 felt right at home as it buzzed by the Home of the Comets at 7:55 a.m. and down the alley to the Carsons. It was a rainy morning, so rather than start on Main Street like we had planned... it was off to The First Presbyterian Church where we could use the piano there.

Marijke had mentioned that her daughter was into ticklin' the keys and was also really into all things speech/drama/play production... so I said that fine as long as we could get access to those things.

Mrs. Carson is married to a key component to all this happening, appropriately enough, as the Reverend at First Presbyterian and the Director of the stage productions at BCLUW also just happens to double as Leigh's father. :)

That meant that we had ultimate access to the piano at the church and the auditorium at the high school... and then it was time to create. We probably spent an hour at each place and did another hour on the neat Main Street area before returning to the Carsons to get her three pets and FINALLY back to Montour for a smidge of indoor.

Not surprisingly, Kerry was of great help the entire morning, not just with his set of keys to get us where we needed to go... but also with a keen ability to hold my exterior strobe (not to mention moral support for our guest of honor!)

Fittingly, what I have dubbed "Comet Week" included a tour of the town to places I hadn't been before in the epicenter of the BCLUW District. Not gonna lie, it's always fun for me to have new playgrounds to work in... so the week continued of all the Comet Ladies... There's one more to go to cap the week as the tallest of all the Black-n-Gold ladies still waits... but before we get there... we have a little Lauren from Marshalltown to take care of next... and trust me folks... you won't wanna miss either one...

Stay tuned...
