A dash for the pants...

Tyler was here Thursday morning for his session and we had almost EVERYTHING done and we were about ready to wrap up his sports series with the football portion when he let his mother, Dee, and I in on something.

"I forgot the pants."

Tyler smiled his sheepish smile that comes so easily and shrugged. He had said that he wanted a sports collage that was "just football" so... we had ourselves a bit a problem.

It was just over an hour until my next session... and the pants were at the high school... 20 minutes away in Marshalltown.

I'm not sure if all traffic laws were obeyed... but Tyler got up and down Highway 30 and we got yet another kickin' sports collage done.... It wouldn't have looked the same without 'em .... so I appreciated Tyler's effort to erase his small mistake.

My other favorite story of the day came when I asked Tyler something I ask many of my senior clients...

"Got a part time job?"

Tyler heard the question... looked down... then at his mom... smiled... and sheepishly said....

"Well... yeah, kinda... well... I did."

As in past tense, Tyler?

"Yep."

Seems like young love kept Mr. Linton from making work one day after two years on the job at Marshalltown's Taylor's Maid Rite. I'm sure his boss wasn't any too happy about it at the time... and I could tell from the look on Dee's face... she wasn't either. But I got one heck of a laugh out of it. Tyler clearly wasn't too proud of it... but I told him I understood.

Ah... young and in love. Makes ya do crazy things sometimes. HA!
