Allie is the Kriz-nit...

How about a peek behind the curtain into my world.

Tuesday morning... 4 a.m. Alarm goes off. I've got senior to photograph in four hours.... coming from over two hours away. And then another at 1 p.m.... coming from just a couple minutes away.

So, it's 4:02 a.m., and I'm deleting a myriad of junk emails from my Blackberry, as i do every morning... and then there was the notification...

"Allie Kriz has sent you a message."

On Facebook, of course.

Timestamp? 1:32 a.m.

It had been just 2 1/2 hours prior... My upcoming afternoon senior SHOULD have been in bed, but she was wired... several questions, requests and TONS of excitability. She had signed up for 5 outfits... wanted to maybe add a few more... plus location work... so, I just KNEW I was in for a long session later that day.

So, as you saw in the previous post, our morning session was off-the-chain awesome... but THAT ran long... to the point that it was after 1 p.m. and I was walking the morning mom through the pricelist, Allie stood there... arms full of clothes and such... just WAITING for her turn.

It was about 1:15 p.m. then, when Allie finally got her turn... and I was gonna make SURE that she never forgot it. I felt like maybe I owed it to her for making her wait!

Miss Kriz mentioned several times in her marathon session that it was a "no-brainer" as to where she wanted to go for her senior pictures.... That made me feel good, to be sure. It's that kind of loyalty and dedication that makes me want to find a way to dig even deeper and find a way to make that senior's day extra special... even in the middle of another 120 hr week... and in extreme heat. Sure we've done 50 sessions already... and overall, probably 3000 before her over the years... but this is HER day... the day that SHE's looked forward to for only God knows how long. Could I possibly tell her no on any request? Not a chance. I mean seriously... has ANYONE ever seen a more beautiful outdoorsman? She had the dress... the heels.. the boots... the short shorts... the bling.... but... she ALSO had a couple muzzle loaders, a bow... and a pair of fishin' poles for good measure. Get in line guys... she's almost too good to be true! ;-)

So we were all over the place... 2 counties... 4 towns... an old family farm... even thru in a couple cemetaries. Allie along with everyone else last week has been extremely patient with a studio owner that is up to his neck in work. We are blessed to be so busy... and in the middle of all that whirlwind, sometimes it's hard to stop and smell the roses. And last week was one of those weeks where I just had to put everything else aside and just focus... on the task at hand... and the post production work would wait.... And it has... and that's an understatement. But in the end, I'm confident that no one gets treated better than our clients. And while we have fallen behind in turnaround time... I can sleep well at night (if only for a scant four hours) knowing that I've given all I have to give to each and every one of my seniors.

Thank you Allie Kriz. And if you or your mother apologize one more time about how long of day it was... I may have to whoop ya. ;-)
