"Never question Tyler Dickenson!!!"

Ok, this is way random, and really not connected in any way, other than by a name. However, when our senior with the last name Dickenson, walked in Thursday afternoon.. I couldn't help but think of it.

Perhaps it was a result of sleep deprivation or end of the week loopiness, but when I hear the name Dickenson... I think of the infamous Bruce Dickenson.

I told Tyler this... and he looked at me like he had no idea what I was talking about. I have no doubt that many of you out there in the blogosphere are wondering if I've totally lost it as well. But for those of you that KNOW... you're already laughing.

Those that know me well, are aware that I've long been a fan of Saturday Night Live and busting out quotable quotes from the long time comedy show.... and one of my all time favorite skits involved a parody of 70s band The Blue Oyster Cult. Rather than try to explain it and try to do it justice, those unaware should just copy and past this addy in your browser and get on the same page... http://www.snotr.com/video/261

Credit where credit is due, Tyler, with my prompting, actually found that link above, because even though I told the Dickenson in present company that I couldn't find it on the net anymore (i had it bookmarked... but it was a broken link now) he was DETERMINED to find it on his own. Luckily for us all, he did... and I have a feeling that his life will never be the same because of it!

SNL aside, I found Ty to be easy goin' and it would hard to NOT get along with the dude. We found out that he's a state champion bowler (teaming with Tama/Toledo's Kelly Turbett) to steamroll their way to the Iowa State Family Doubles title last February. With that in mind, it was my job to make bowling look every bit as wicked as our now trademark look that we typically come up with for our football or basketball-type athletes. It was something new... and I like it.

We also took a short roadie to get Tyler photographed by another passion of his... Ty is buddies with our very FIRST senior of 2011, Nic Wacha, of East Marshall. The friends share a love of racing, and I think I have the Wacha's to thank for getting us Mr. Dickenson. Anyway, Tyler's uncle, Jay Schmidt is a Friday night regular at the dirt oval in Marshalltown... so that's what you see below... Tyler by the #19 car.

Finally, I have to share another fun story. Our Thursday MORNING session (blogged just prior to this one...) with Natasha Kajer... she found out that our afternoon session was with Tyler. So, Tash tells me, "oh, Tyler... he was my 1st Grade boyfriend."

A torrid 1st grade love affair, I'm sure... ;-)

So... as life sometimes does... things came full circle on Thursday as the former "lovers" (HA!) each had their senior session on the very same day... at the same studio. Whoa... the irony!
